The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabimila, has extended an invitation to the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to Gbajabiamila, Wike is destined to join the APC and the party can’t wait to have the Rivers State Governor.
Naija News reports Gbajabiamila made the call to Wike on Friday in Port Harcourt as part of his speech while speaking during the commissioning of the official quarters built for members of the Rivers State House of Assembly by the Governor.
The House of Reps Speaker expressed optimism that very soon the state lawmakers and the Governor will all dump the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and join the APC.
He said’ “I believe that when the governor finally chokes them, the members of the state assembly will be coming with him to where he is destined to be. We await you, your excellency, and very eagerly too.”
This news platform recalls the PDP had been thrown into a crisis following the emergence of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as the party’s 2023 presidential candidate.
Wike came second in the primaries and also lost the chance to be the running mate to Atiku as Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowas was chosen instead.
The development is said to have crippled relationships within the party and though the PDP is working to resolve the crisis, the situation so far remains unsolved.
The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has disclosed that some people around the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar may hinder him from winning the 2023 election.
Wike made the observation on Friday in Port Harcourt during the commissioning of the Rivers State House of Assembly Quarters built by his administration.
The Governor said the people who always want to be seen around Atiku in Abuja may eventually cost him the presidential election because they are going about it the wrong way.
He said instead of milling around the PDP candidate in Abuja, they need to go to their respective states and sell the candidature of Atiku to their people. He urged the former Vice President to send them all back to their respective states.
The Rivers State Governor also urged those concocting stories about him to leave him alone and focus on how the PDP can win the 2023 election.
