The Federal Capital Territory Police Command, has announced the rescue of Al-Kadriyar sisters and other victims kidnapped in Bwari by bandits.
FCT Command’s Spokesperson, Josephine Adeh made the confirmation in a statement issued on Sunday, in Abuja.
A joint security operation comprising military, police and intelligence operatives rescued the sisters at about 11:30 pm on Saturday, around Kajuru forest in Kaduna State.
Adeh said the FCT Police Commissioner has promised to sustain the ongoing existing robust security arrangements in affected areas and beyond to rid kidnappers and other criminals in the city.
Recall that Al-Kadriyar sisters were abducted on January 2, 2024 alongside their father and some residents of the Bwari community.
Their father however was immediately released allegedly to sort out the ransom.
The kidnappers subsequently announced a deadline for the payment of ransom.
Last week, news filtered that one of the sisters, Nabeeha, was killed by their abductors.
After killing the victim, the bandits reportedly raised the ransom from N60 million to N100 million, while threatening to kill the remaining sisters.
