The scale at home showed that he was within the luggage limit. But now at the airport, the possibility of losing valuables stared at him, and he started rearranging his belongings to achieve the maximum permissible. Others in similar dilemma, alternated on the scale. After an hour, he heaved a sigh of relief. By the time the luggage cleared the check-in hurdle, he had learnt a lesson in obeying rules, which are not amenable to sentiments.
“But [like a boxer] I buffet my body [handle it roughly, discipline it by hardships] and subdue it, for fear that, after proclaiming to others the Gospel and things pertaining to it, I myself should become unfit [not stand the test, be unapproved and rejected as a counterfeit].”
