According to Charles Spurgeon, faith is the sight of the soul and it comes by hearing. Men who are wise, care for their eyes. Some mind their diet so that their eyes will remain healthy and their sight clear . It is therefore wise to protect your faith because it is your inward sight. To keep it healthy and intact, feed on divine truths because healthy hearing is what brings robust faith.
What you see and how well you see are subject to what you hear. Watch what goes on into you through your ears. Junk flies around every day by the waves of social media at terrifying frequency.
This explains why there is so much fear and unbelief in the world. When, instead of the Word of God, men keep hearing of killings, deaths, insurgencies, rape, suicide, depression, fraud and the fiery arrows of sin flying around, they end up fearful and unbelieving.
Surface-truth of the Word of God is not enough. It is time to dig deeper. Pick up the Bible and feed on It , get the truth into yourself and step up to feed the multitude around you who are hungrily waiting for you. No one can achieve remarkable success with unhealthy faith. Knowing The Word of God, believing and acting on It will fill your soul with light. Don’t say you are not a pastor. This has nothing to do with titles. Your spiritual eye is what is important.
A brother had to spend a long time reading his Bible because he was compelled by his leader to do so. A relative of his visited his home and after welcoming her, he went back to his reading desk because he had a deadline. The visitor after a while questioned why the man should read his Bible so much. Her reason was that he was not a pastor.
You need enlightenment, power and boldness and you need the eyes of your faith to get them. May you never lose your spiritual sight.
