National chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Abdullahi Adamu, has appealed to favoured candidates of the party’s national caucus and the National Working Committee (NWC) for the positions of Senate president and deputy Senate president of the 10th National Assembly, Senators Godswill Akpabio and Barau Jibrin, to deepen consultations with aggrieved aspirants ahead of the June 13 date for election of the presiding officers of both chambers of parliament.
Adamu also declared that the lawmakers in the National Assembly and not his leadership would decide the fate of Akpabio and Jibrin.
He gave the advice on Tuesday when he met with Akpabio, who led a coalition of his supporters across the political parties divide under the platform of the Stability Group to the party’s national secretariat.
Checks revealed that aggrieved aspirants for the office of Speaker House of Representatives under the aegis of G-6 met last week with APC NWC. Three of the aspirants for the office of Senate President equally stormed the party national secretriat last week.
The list included former Zamfara State governor and senator representing Zamfara West, Abdul Aziz Yari; Senate Chief Whip, Orji Uzor Kalu, and senator representing Niger East, Sani Musa.
At Tuesday meeting of the senators, other sighted lawmakers from the opposition parties were: Rufai Hanga of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), deputy Governor of Rivers State and senator-elect for Rivers West, Ipalibo Harry-Banigo.

Today, I went to the beach with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the shell to her ear and screamed.
