Very Revd Ayo Olu Oyadotun has called for a formidable synergy as antidote against flagrant insecurity in the country.
He made the call at the 59th Annual Synod of Methodist Church Nigeria, Diocese of Lagos held at Olorunda Circuit, Surulere, Lagos.
Quoting from several biblical injunctions, the eminent cleric berated the unfortunate security challenges currently enveloping the country, insisting there must be a roadmap to arresting the ugly trend urgently.
In addition, the former Chaplain, Lagos State Chapel, Alausa Ikeja, reiterated the strong need for Nigerians to unite in the quest to finding solution to the killings and blood letting across the country.
According to him, both the led and the leaders must be God fearing. “Our challenge is not unique. It only required that we pray fervently to God to arrest the ugly situation and promote peaceful coexistence, mutual trust and unity.”
He charged the church to be true light bearers and enjoined the congregation to turn around the society for the glory of God.
The event was presided over by the Archbishop of Lagos, His Grace, the Most Revd Isaac Ayobami Olawuyi, his wife, Mrs Funmilayo, Sir Olugbolahan Olayomi, as well as the synod secretary, Very Revd John Olanrewaju Solubi, the host circuit host, Very Revd Kolade Odu, duly assisted by the dynamic 2021 annual synod planning committee members.
