A critical ingredient in Osimhen’s play is the energy he puts into his game, and a former Copa America winner is impressed

Former Napoli midfielder Walter Gargano has praised Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen for his zeal and his desire for results whenever he is on the pitch.

Slowly but steadily, Nigerian hitman Osimhen is writing his name as a great in Napoli’s history books. He just arrived in Napoli in September 2020,  but he has won many hearts.

Osimhen scored just ten goals in Serie A in his first season because of long injury layoffs.

However, last season, he hit 14 in 27 games. This season, it is not even halfway into the season yet, and the 23-year-old point man already has nine goals in his kitty.

Osimhen’s style is a perfect blend of power, pace, intelligence, and exceptional finishing.

Former Napoli man and 2021 Copa America America winner Gargano has been impressed with what he has seen from Osimhen since he arrived in Naples.

“Osimhen has incredible strength, he has an obvious hunger for goals, he never leaves a ball to chance,” Gargano told Napoli Magazine.

“If he gets it wrong he gets angry with himself because he always wants to get the best. He wants to break everything.

“It’s good to keep running and pedaling, just like he’s doing”

The Partenopeans currently sit atop the Serie A, eight points above second-placed AC Milan.

Napoli have not lost a game this season. They resume Serie A with a big game against Inter Milan. Osimhen would want to be at his best, as a win against Inter Milan would give Napoli a big boost in their hunt for the Scudetto.
