In truth, there is nothing of great value that is cheap to get. This age needs to be reminded of this from time to time. Be careful about what costs you nothing or little because you will have to pay for it in the end. You should ask The Lord to show you what to do and teach you how to get it done. Those who are ignorant of the price to be paid lose the prize to be won.
The advent of Jesus Christ will remain the greatest event in the history of this world. He conquered death and it was no cheap victory. He had to suffer and He deprived himself of a lot which only eternity will reveal.
A man was to travel to a very popular town. The trip would cost a good sum but he felt that he could find a way to pay less. Of course, he found a way. Instead of walking to the park to board a bus that would take him to his destination, he decided to board an open truck by the highway which would cost him almost nothing. He had the fare for a comfortable seat on a bus, but he would not pay for it. In the truck were artisans, labourers, market men and women and other people who were far below the man’s class.
On the journey , it suddenly began to rain cats and dogs. People who paid more and were in buses kept on moving past and before the end of the journey the man was so drenched that he caught a cold and became full of regrets.
Christianity is not a cheap journey. It begins when you give your life to Jesus and there are prices you must pay. Christianity is not cheap. It cost God the Blood of His Son, the ‘Eternal Prince and King’. Don’t stoop so low to the level of those who think it will cost them nothing to be Christians. Pay what you must – time, sacrifice, diligence, selflessness and so on because there is no cheap victory.
