Christians who fail to live like Christ have failed the world. Should we say that the world is suffering because God’s children have given up their place in Him to chase shadows? The world is sicker today than it has ever been in history.
Yet, there are amazing advancements in Medicine and Technology. Detecting diseases and naming them will not produce the solutions for them. When one sickness arises, another follows it and the world is being filled with sick people. Worse still. some sicknesses are said to be incurable and those who have them are asked to manage them for life.
Christians cannot keep allowing their spiritual states to fluctuate like the weather. Meteorologists forecast the weather, but who can forecast the future except God?
Jesus has put the solutions to the problems of man in the hands of His people. The Church is to help the world, not the government. Instead of asking like many do concerning the issues facing humanity, what is the government doing? The question should be what are God’s people doing? No believer who is asleep and passionless can help the world. The embarrassment must stop. The gospel, the power of God must be given to this sick world. It is time to arise and get started.
A certain preacher brought great embarrassment to the gospel one day. A woman was very sick and about to die. Medicines could not really help her and her family felt they needed to get as much prayer as possible for her. The preacher happened to be a close friend of one of the woman’s sons and he came visiting. When the family saw him, they rejoiced because they believed he had the anointing to get their mama healed. However, when he was asked to pray for her, he told them that he couldn’t because he did not leave his home with the anointing on that day.
Imagine the disappointment. It is strange how cold and compassionless some believers have become. The world is in need of you. The Lord has called you. May you not be among men who have failed the world?
PRAYER GUIDE
1. Thank the Lord for His goodness.
2. Repent if you have no compassion in your heart on the dying world.
3. Pray for the grace to bring honour to the name of the Lord.
4. Tell the Lord about your weaknesses.
5. Pray about today. Give thanks.
