A corp member named “Onyiwara Chinwe Faith” serving at the ABC Farms, Ilamija Nla Village, Epe, Lagos state. who was earlier kidnapped by gunmen has now been rescued.
The statement reads: “Onyiwara Chinwe Faith was abducted on 29/11/2019 while on her way to attend CDS meeting at Ilamija, Epe.

Bala Elkana, spokesperson of the state police command in a statement said the Corps member was rescued at about 2.20 am on Tuesday morning in a swamp forest around Ilamija Nla in Epe after a gun battle.
It was learnt that the abductors initially demanded for a ransom of N50 million but reduced it later on to N400,000. At the end no ransom was paid.
After securing gunshot wounds, the kidnapper’s ring leader, 31-year-old Moses Ofeye from Ondo State, of Ijaw origin, was arrested.
Since the rescue mission, the corp member has been taken to the hospital for medical attention due to the shock and trauma but she is in a stable condition.
She is in safe hands now as she has been handed over to the Lagos State Coordinator of the NYSC and her family by the Commissioner of Police.
