Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State on Tuesday alleged that the suspended national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Iyorchia Ayu had an agenda while in office.
Wike alleged that Ayu came into power to amass wealth.
Speaking during a media parley, Wike said: “Ayu had an agenda, he came to amass wealth, and I have said this before. Do you know how many people have given him money? Is Ayu not building a university? Where did the money come from?”
Wike and his G-5 governors had tackled Ayu while he was PDP’s National Chairman.
The governor had said it was wrong for the North to produce a National Chairman and presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar.
In the heat of the face-off, Wike had accused Ayu of corrupt practices.
