Fuel Scarcity: NNPC Engages Security Agencies In Logistics

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) has once again assured Nigerians that it has sufficient stock of petroleum products to distribute across the country, while working assiduously with partners including government security agencies to ensure the product reaches every of its intended destination.

Meanwhile, queues continue to be seen in fuel stations in many parts of the country, especially in Abuja and Lagos.

The Company stated that the apparent scarcity is currently caused by logistics issues, which it is working on resolving.

“To this effect, NNPC is engaging depot operators to load products round the clock to accelerate the restoration of normal distribution,” a statement signed by the Company’s spokesman, Garba Deen Mohammed said.

“NNPC has also engaged the services of government security agencies to ensure that all products loaded get to the right destination. We urge Nigerians to continue to be patient as we strive to restore the situation to normalcy,” the NNPC said.
