2. The acting CBN Governor holds two Masters Degrees in Business Administration and Mechanical Engineering, from the University of Lagos.
3. Shonubi has spent over 30-years of his life as a professional banker.
4. Before his new appointment, Shonubi has been the Deputy Governor Operations Directorate of the apex bank since October 2018.
5. Shonubi was the Managing Director/CEO of the Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System PLC from year 2012 – 2018.
6. Shonubi served as the Executive Director, Information Technology and Operations at Union Bank of Nigeria Plc.
7. He is also a member of the Board of Union Homes and Director, Information Technology and Corporate Services at Renaissance Securities Nigeria Limited, with responsibility for the Group’s IT infrastructure in Africa.
8. Shonubi also had a stint with Citibank Nigeria Limited as its Head, Treasury Operations between years 1990-1993.
