A section of the chamber of Katsina House of Assembly was on Wednesday razed by fire.
The incident reportedly happened overnight and was discovered by an assembly staff, who wanted to tidy up the chamber before the Wednesday plenary.
Members of the Assembly eventually held the plenary sessions inside the chamber.

The House Deputy Chief Whip, Salisu Rimaye, who was at the scene of the incident, said the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, adding that a team of electricians had begun processes to unravel its cause.
Ramiye added that the fire extinguishers in the assembly were initially used to curtail the fire before men of the state fire service joined in putting it out.
The deputy chief whip said no life was lost in the incident.
The State governor Aminu Masari has also visited the scene to assess the damages.
