‘Who hath delivered us from the power of sin and hath translated us into the kingdom of his son’: Colossians 1:13. Jesus set you free from the prison of sin, do not go back there. A turn from the path of righteousness is a highway into captivity and when the devil imprisons a soul, only righteousness can set him free, do not go back there. God , our heavenly father has delivered us from the kingdom of darkness.
Diligently live according to his word, so that you will not go back to prison because Captivity is deadly. It ruins destinies.
Sin is a deadly prison. It is maximum security with hard labour . The worst thing about this prison is that some of those in it think they are free men. There is no such thing as small sin. God never reckons with sin no matter who commits it or reason behind it. Its is either a man is free of sin or that he is bound by it. There is no middle ground. All forms of lying, deception, lust, unforgiveness, pride, malice, tale bearing, hatred, revenge, and all others are prisons.
A movie was shown some years ago in which one of the major actors did something many considered foolish. He had to go to prison because one of his trusted friends betrayed him unknown to him. Somehow he broke out, got to his house , saw his wife and children and was about to rum off to another country with them when he learnt that it was someone that gave him away. He got to know who it was and in spite of how his wife tried to stop him from seeking revenge but he left.
His motive was to kill the betrayer and then travel with his family. He was wrong because it was a setup. He walked right into police net. Do not be like the actor. Never because of what someone has done to you go back to prison. Revenge, hatred, malice, unforgiveness an son on are prisons. Don’t live prison, Jesus has set you free.
