Anambra Poll: (JUST IN) INEC Declares Election Inconclusive

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the November 6 governorship election in Anambra State inconclusive.

This decision reached by INEC was followed by the suspension of collation of results pending the conduct of the election in Ihiala Local Government Area.

The electoral body’s Returning Officer for the Anambra Governorship election, Prof. Florence Obi, made this known in Awka, the state capital in the early hours of Monday morning, November 8, 2021.

Professor Obi, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Cross River, announced that the winner of the Anambra elections will be announced when the last run of the election is held in Ihiala on Tuesday, November 9.

According to the University Don, election could not hold in the Ihiala LGA due to security challenges.

She said: ”As the Electoral Officer, I hereby announce the suspension of result until elections are held in all the polling units in Ihiala.
”Supplementary election will take place in the area on Nov. 9,”
