It was a new season, with fruits in their variety as the focus. The presenters harped on the drawbacks of the dietary pattern of those years when you ate as you chose or could afford. But the new converts either struggled to get fresh fruit supplies, store the juice or even read the available literature donated by another enthusiast. In months, the zeal had waned, and the excitement about smoothies fizzled – just like that.
