Niger Governor Bello defeats incumbent Sabi for senatorial ticket

Niger State Governor Abubakar Sani Bello has won the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for the Niger North Senatorial District in the 2023 general election.

Bello won the primary with 335 votes against incumbent Senator Aliyu Sabi who got seven votes.

Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Alhaji Adamu Abdulkarim, announced the result yesterday in Kontagora.

Abdulkarim said out of 435 delegates, 343 delegates had valid votes, while one vote was invalidated.

Also, Chairman of the Electoral Committee for the Niger East Senatorial District, Mr. Raymond Mofe, declared incumbent Senator Mohammed Musa as winner.

Mofe said Musa polled 492 votes to defeat Mr. Ibrahim Dada who got two votes.

Also, incumbent senator for Niger South, Bima Enagi, won the primary election with 314 votes.

Dr. Ibrahim Liman and Mr. Aminu Baka polled 72 votes and 53 votes, placed second and third.
